For the UK to compete globally the UK government needs to strengthen the high value end: Be it in formulation, manufacturing, energy, new processing routes, new products and so on.

Example 1 A national competition in new ways of generation of green energy - with support to bring the winning entrant(s) ideas to market. 'Sustainable living'

Example 2 A national competition on new goods for twenty first century living - with support to bring the winning entrants new products to market. 'Quality of life'

Example 3 Enhance the speed and co-ordination of the technology pipeline

Example 4 Strengthen UK exports of High Value formulated, processed and manufactured goods and through the competition provide to the world new means to generate electricity and new goods for twenty fist century living.
