Tougher Sentencing on people who stab or wound Emergency Service or Key Workers

Petition Details

We need stricter Sentences for people that Stab or wound anyone who is a key worker or an emergency service member, 18 months is not acceptable

Additional Information

I was shocked and horrified to hear of a male who stabbed a police officer in the chest was only sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison, He was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for Section 20 wounding and six months imprisonment for having a bladed article. The sentences will be served consecutively.

This is not a strict sentence and does not deter people from carrying knives and we are seeing an increase of this in the capital with gangs.
