Pause UK Covid vaccination after vulnerable groups to ensure fair global rollout
We have made great progress with vaccination in the UK but with global supply under pressure we should pause our programme after completing the vaccination of high risk groups and healthcare workers to increase the supply to those groups in other countries.
Beyond the moral consideration of wanting to reduce mortality and serious illness in all parts of the world, the UK will continue to be at risk from new variants and adverse economic impacts if the disease is not controlled globally.
