Provide hazard pay to all 'Key Workers' during a global pandemic.
Provide a 10% increase to all 'key workers' wages as they continue to work during highly hazardous conditions. 'Key workers' would include Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Hospitality and Food staff, Supermarket Staff and anyone working a customer-facing role daily.
Hazard pay can be obtained if any of the following can be proven:
The nature of the duty.
The degree to which the employee is exposed to hazard or physical hardship.
The length of time the hardship or hazardous situation continues to exist.
The degree of control over the physical hardship or hazard.
I believe all can be proven. We as a nation owe it to the unsung heroes who put their lives and their loved ones lives at risk every day.
