Petition Action

Start British Summer Time a month earlier this year, on 28th February, 2021

Petition Details

Change the time and date of the start of British Summer Time in 2021 to 28th February at 1am instead of beginning it on 28th March.
This is an essentially costless way to lift all our spirits when we need it most.

Additional Information

As we approach the anniversary of Covid-19 in the UK, we are all aware how much sunlight affects our sense of well being. So instead of wasting sunshine while most of us are still asleep, let's enjoy it in the afternoon and evening during March.
Sunrise in Birmingham, (for example), would still be no later than 7:54am after 28th February, so any children walking to school should still be doing so in daylight - twilight would begin at 7:19am.
