Petition Action

Publish an impact assessment on the effects of lockdown.

Petition Details

We want the Government to publish an assessment on the impact the lockdowns have had on transmission of the virus and to assess the short and long-term damage these restrictions have caused.

Additional Information

The public deserve to know if the restrictions upon our civil liberties over the past eleven months are justified. A paper submitted by Philip Thomas, Professor of Risk Management at the University of Bristol (https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/6369/pdf/) estimated that the impoverishment caused by lockdowns could lead to 598,000 "average lives" lost in the long term. Can the Government prove that their current approach is in the people's best interest?
