Enforce social media platforms to legally have to report all discrimination.
Ensure social media companies don’t provide a platform for people to discriminate with no consequences. Filtering out and reporting any discriminatory actions should be a necessity. Legislation surrounding this topic will decrease the large number of social media users anonymously abusing others.
Discrimination is becoming increasingly apparent within our society, especially over social media during the COVID-19 pandemic. These issues regarding discrimination need government legislation as this problem is ongoing and efforts by the general public need to be backed by the government. Some actions, if not made virtually, would lead to arrest and prosecution. However, due to lack of regulation, these people over social media do not receive punishment.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about certain comments on social media, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition refers to reporting certain types of comments, but it is not clear exactly what comments you want to be reported, or who to. Your petition also refers to filtering out some content, but it is not clear what requirements to filter content you want to be imposed on social media companies.
We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:
Make verified ID a requirement for opening a social media account: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/575833
Inquiry into how social media enforce rules & handle complaints equally & fairly: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/333245
Require social media companies to remove extremist content within one hour: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/556741
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require social media companies to report and/or remove all offensive content, if that's waht you want to happen.
