Petition Action

Ensure all new arrivals in UK, except lorry drivers, quarantine within hotels.

Petition Details

Requesting new arrivals quarantine at home is insufficient to reduce the threat of new variants arriving from overseas, given compliance is not high. The red list of countries is insufficient given the lack of genome sequencing in other countries.

Additional Information

British people have complied with the lockdown and sacrificed a lot. However this compliance is undermined by the lack of border controls on new arrivals to the country.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/570364

You could have a petition calling for lorry drivers to be excluded from all quarantine restrictions, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
