Prison Reform
A petition to the UK parliament to implement sweeping changes to the prison system.
- Longer sentences for crimes against persons.
- A system in which prisoners work to make, grow or build items that are needed within the community and that can have a positive effect on the disadvantaged.
- A system of education to allow people who have committed crimes to be able to re-enter the community is a safe and positive manner.
- Working to pay for their own expenses whilst inside prison through monetary earning or community based effort.
- Working on the nature of the prison system to avoid exacerbating already problematic individuals and breaking up of gang cultures.
- A realization that these people are just as human as anyone else.
- There needs to be an effort to work towards community cohesion to prevent crime in the first place.
