Provide more funding to schools for mental health programmes
Long before the pandemic, waiting lists were around 18 months for children to be seen by peadtricians or mental health services. Schools need more financial resources to support children struggling with mental health to support along side waiting lists.
Even more so now than ever there has been a decline in childrens mental health. Waiting lists are getting longer and out current system is not working and is unable to help children adequately. If schools had extra funding to employ specialist staff in mental health to provide these services this could take pressures off waiting lists while most importantly helping our children.
