Increase the amount of maternity and paternity paid leave

Petition Details

Change paternity and maternity leave so both parents are given 480 days of leave per child, and 390 of these days are paid at a rate of 80% of their salary up to a capped limited of £100 a day.

Additional Information

To improve and modernise the current system bringing it closer to Europe's leading countries for parental leave. This would allow families to be in a stronger position to be able to support themselves financially and emotionally during this time of change. Studies at the University of Oslo support increased paternity leave has been linked to increases in child development.
