Petition Action

Require moped/motorcycle users doing commercial work to have a full licence

Petition Details

Require all motorcyclist/moped users undertaking commercial activities to have a full driving licence. This should make roads safer, take pressure off the NHS, reduce motorcycle insurance and provide Government funding through driving test income to help offset some of the Corona Virus costs.

Additional Information

In London alone there are thousands of delivery drivers undertaking commercial activities using scooters / small motorbikes and just with a Compulsory Basic Training certificate. Some are competetent riders and would easily pass their motorcycle license. However, many are not. They ride year after year just on a CBT permit. Should they not undertake and pass their motorcycle licence within 2 years of doing the CBT they are only required to redo CBT. This process can be repeated for ever.
