Stop small rural schools being closed (with particular ref to Llanafan Primary School)
Over the past few years, especially in rural West Wales, we have seen the closure of many small rural schools. This results in young children, aged 4-11 being bussed to schools closer to larger towns. On most occasions this results in a small saving to the local Council. We are asking when will the Local Councils realise the detrimental effect this will have on our children's feeling of community, their education and the local area? This railroading by local councils of closing these small schools, which is in contradiction to their own policies, has to to stopped.
