£500 voucher to all low income workers to be spent on businesses most hit COVID

Petition Details

The UK economy has been heavily affected by the pandemic. Certain busineses suffered more than others. Low income workers (>28k y) with jobs that didn't allow them to work from home were exposed to COVID & costs. £500 voucher to workers to be spent on certain business would benefit the UK as a whole

Additional Information

There were talks about people being awarded £500 to stay home when tested positive for COVID. Differently from this negative approach, a £500 voucher to be spent on specific heavily affected business given to the workers who were more exposed to the pandemic could be a tremendous impulse to the economy and to these humble tax payers. They were keeping businesses COVID safe, cleaning, driving buses, sanitising streets, being receptionists, security, post men, going to work daily and not clapped .

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want the Government to take action to support individuals and businesses affected by the Covid-19 outbreak, but it's not clear exactly who you want to receive the vouchers you have suggested, or where you want them to be able to be spent.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
