Take firmer action and place sanctions against the military coup in Myanmar.
Simply condemning the military coup in Myanmar isn't enough. We must take firmer, direct action (sanctions) against the military coup and be the leading example for other democratic countries to follow.
As Martin Luther King Jr. once said - "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
This one quote sums it all up.
If we truly cared about democracy, we should be protecting it; both domestic and foreign.
The pro-democratic civilians of Myanmar are silenced and their ability to communicate has been quashed by military control and blocking of internet access to social media and messaging platforms.
It's time to employ appropriate measures to stop this crime against democracy.
