Protect staff pay in event of company administration
Better regulate administration of large companies to protect employees from being left with less than 40% of their entitled notice and redundancy pay whilst administrators and company directors walk away with millions.
Case in point - Arcadia administration
Now more than ever after living through almost a year of this pandemic it is vital that staff are better protected. Covid has had far reaching financial implications on millions of households and now thousands more will be left with next to nothing from being made redundant while administrators walk away with fees in the millions paid in full and company directors face no penalties. This has to change

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about employees losing entitlements if an employer goes into administration, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We could accept a petition calling for the Government to guarantee full payment of unpaid wages and redundancy pay when employers become insolvent, if that's what you want to happen.
If you want new requirements to be imposed on employers we may be able to accept a petition about this, but you would need to explain clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
