Petition Action

Make Social Media companies and News Sites to require Gov ID for account holders

Petition Details

Make it a requirement for social media companies and news papers ran websites to delete profiles that are anonymous and delete accounts with no valid Government ID.

Make companies that hold user accounts accountable in the way of fines for hate comments left on social media without proof of ID.

Additional Information

We all keep seeing in the media people committing suicide due to social media abuse. Social media trolling can cause depression, eating disorders and death.

End users who use social media and news sites to leave comments must be traceable for the comments they leave in the public domain.

This can all be prevented or reduced with a simple government ID upload and the deletion of anonymous profiles.
