Petition Action

Change the Kennel Club standards to improve health of all dogs

Additional Information

By getting The Kennel Club to change their breeding standards we can slowly start breeding the dogs out to create much healthier stronger dogs, we can also concentrate on breeding out all the unwanted problems that come with breeding from only a small pool of genes in each breed.

One example of this unnecessary breeding is the Rhodesian Ridgeback, due to a high concentration of breeding with this particular breed these dogs are more commonly being born with a ridge on their backs and the ones that haven't are usually put to sleep even though these are the healthier dog.

There are many examples of how the kennel club are in fact breeding from unhealthy dogs and allowing their unhealthy offspring to be allowed to show. This has to stop.
