Do not make masks mandatory for children in primary or secondary schools in UK.
Do not make masks mandatory for children in primary or secondary schools in UK.
Enforcing face coverings on children in schools could disrupt their social interactions and cause further damage when their wellbeing and mental health has already been disproportionately affected. We call on the government to ensure that children can have a normalised social and educational experience.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since you started your petition, the Government has confirmed that the use of masks in schools when they re-open on 8 March is recommended, not mandatory.
