Clearer Rules on Driving
Action (i) Like Motorways use accident and death statistics to restrict what vehicles should not travel on which roads.
Action (ii) Introduce a RTA road traffic accident telephone number. Members of the public to call in near misses and dangerous road behaviours.
Action (iii) Introduce a process where by a hit and run driver can within 24 hours identify themselves to the police. For drivers who do not remain at the scene of an accident and do not call the police to explain why they left the scene of the accident introduce stiffer penalties.
Action (iv) Introduce more technology to make our vehicles safer and our roads safer
Action (v) Introduce a bicycle road tax so that all cyclists contribute to improvements, use this tax revenue to improve roads, lanes and safety for cyclists.
Action (vi) Produce a highway code which includes cyclists
