The 1996 introduction of Landfill Tax has had the unintended consequences of incentivising fly tipping.

We should replace Landfill Tax with a waste premium rewarding the delivery of separated waste at recycling, processing and storage centres.

Additional Information

Our countryside and cities are blighted with unsightly and often dangerous waste from fly tipping and general littering. Our local authorities are paying for ineffective cleaning up.

Placing a value on the delivery of sorted waste at designated recycling, processing and storage centres could help transform our environment, save our wildlife, keep us safe and save money.
