Create a digital driving licence

Petition Details

The Government should create a digital driving licence so that people do not need to be issued a plastic licence. This could be a standalone DVLA app but should be designed to work with mainstream document apps.

Additional Information

A digital driving licence would be more environmentally friendly as it could reduce plastic. It’s much easier for users as cards won’t be lost. It is also likely to be easier for the Government to manage with less resources. It should also be a quicker process to issue new cards digitally.
