Petition Action

Change the current UK national rod fishing Byelaws

Petition Details

Protect the futures of course species including pike, perch, carp and grayling by making 'taking' course fish species illegal.

A full investigation into the current fish stocks in the United kingdom's river systems, trend data and then reform of the current byelaws to protect all species.

Additional Information

Current legislations/byelaws dictate: Each day, you can take up to 15 coarse fish. This legislation is out of date and requires immediate reform!
Fish species across the Uk face a number of threats which can be directly linked to human activities such as over fishing, pollution and poaching. Taking fish species for the table need not be another threat to the long term sustainability of our river ecosystems.
The message needs to be clear, concise and understandable by all,
Catch, release, repeat!
