Urgently sort out immigration policy
Within a matter of months sort out the immigration:
1 Reduce overstay numbers and the inflow of illegal migrants to zero
2 Invest into deporting ALL refused alyssum and FNOs
3 Prioritise UK's nursing & other training before overseas staff
4 Ban the use of hotels to accommodate alyssum seekers
The government has been continuously promising to take back control of the borders. However, immigration is still a major concern for most of the British. While other policies are often implemented within days without Parliamentary debates, for immigration policies it can take years. The HO must take responsibility for:
- inability to address the people's lasting concerns over immigration
- continuously incorrect predictions over immigration
- bureaucracy leading to an uncontrolled immigration.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about immigration, but we're not sure exactly what actions you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
Immigration officers already have the power to take several actions against illegal migrants, including the power to detain them for "the purpose of removal": assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/537231/Immigration_Act_-_Part_3_-_Enforcement.pdf.
The Home Secretary must already make a deportation order in respect of a foreign criminal unless certain exceptions apply (e.g. where deportation would contravene the UK’s obligations under the Refugee and Human Rights Conventions). You can find out more here: commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8062/
Further, not all undocumented migrants entering the UK are doing so illegally - many will be entering the country for the purpose of seeking asylum: www.gov.uk/claim-asylum.
The type of housing used for asylum seekers is an operational decision, so we would not accept a petition calling on the Government to ban authorities from housing asylum seekers in hotels.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what actions you would like the Government or Parliament to take.
