Prevent Functional Skill Qualification (FSQ)/ESOL exams taking place in 2021

Petition Details

The Government should revisit the decision to allow Functional Skill Qualification (FSQ) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) assessments to take place this year, due to: Lost learning, Digital poverty, Inequality. The Announcement is too late!

Additional Information

Review the outcome of the consultation.

"GCSE, AS and A Levels” - teachers should assess students only on the areas of content they have taught", whereas "FUNCTIONAL SKILLS” - "all efforts should be made to allow learners to take an assessment, in line with public health measures or remotely".

Those doing Functional Skills are have been disadvantaged as a result of the impact of Covid-19, and allowing assessments to go ahead puts further stress and anxiety on these students, as compared to students whose grades are being provided by teachers.

Let us support and treat all learners the same!
