Petition Action

Make teaching of mental health mandatory in the school curriculum

Petition Details

Ensure that mental health is taken more seriously as a subject in schools. It’s touched on (briefly) in PSE (for some schools) but it needs to be taught in detail - with the importance of asking for help when you feel low highlighted!

Additional Information

•Put forward that schools need to teach mental health as it’s own whole subject.

•Make young people aware in school that there are always people they can talk to ( and making sure there is actually councillors in place to listen)

•Make it mandatory for teachers to learn about key mental health issues & how to deal with them. (Anxiety & depression)
