Petition Action

Compensate all Key Workers for working throughout Covid-19 period

Petition Details

Compensate all the key workers who we've been working and risking their own and families life by not giving equal opportunities to be able to isolate at home compared to non-essential employees who we've been given the opportunity to stay at home and get payed for the 80% of their salary

Additional Information

All employees should be treated the same and given the same opportunities regardless of their job role. Key workers didn't get any compensation for working all along the Covid-19 period and risking their own and their family's life. This is not equal and not fair on the people who've been working and non-essential employees can afford to stay at home and isolate as well as getting payed 80% of their salary as well as 20% from their employers etc.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want key workers to be compensated for working throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Give a bonus to ALL the hard working key workers during this pandemic: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/559833

Refund PAYE tax for year 2020/21 to Keyworker and Essential Worker Roles: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/568374

Give all key workers a tax break for 2021: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/568861

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
