Keep our right to protest unchanged
Stop the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill from restricting our right to protest, which is often the only way for unrepresented groups to have their voices heard. This is an infringement on our democratic rights.
Emergency laws to protect public health during a pandemic must not become a permanent curb on our right to demonstrate against injustices and misconduct by government. This tool to hold government to account is precious and only a police state restricts right to non violent protest.
The UK offers Hong Kong demonstrators sanctuary and now wants to bring in measures against their own population. Venting dissent peacefully serves as a means of expression and restrictions might cause civil unrest.
