Make St. Patrick’s Day a bank holiday in Northern England
Grant Northern England a bank holiday on St. Patrick’s Day to give them time to celebrate their most famous Saint
St. Patrick came from Northern England before he was kidnapped and sold into slavery. He returned to Northern England to undertake his studies before finally returning back to Ireland to cast the snakes out. As a region we have an eternal link with the Irish diaspora that continues to do this. We believe it is only right and proper to grant the region a bank holiday to celebrate this with family and friends.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Bank holidays are only held in nations and not specific regions.
You could start a new petition calling for the day to be made a bank holiday in England, or across the UK, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
