Allow the possession of a registered pepper spray as a self-defence weapon
We want parliament to review the 1968 crime bill specifically relating to section 5 (1) (b) with makes it illegal to carry CS gas and pepper spray and to open a discussion on rewriting this section to allow registered sale and use of these tools of self defence
With cases of rape being heightened especially in large cities and student housing areas throughout the UK, the statistics show that young women are the most effected by violent rape and sexual assault. If women can’t feel safe walking home, getting in a taxi, unlocking their front door or even getting into the car of someone in a position of legal power then the only reasonable solution is to allow the sale, possession and use of registered low to medium capacity CS gas and/or pepper spray
