Return the Elgin Marbles to Greece.
The UK has no legitimate title to the Marbles. They clearly have been plundered from the Greek Nation. It is a moral and ethical obligation to right this wrong.
Lord Elgin's acquisition of the Marbles was illegitimate and made with an occupying power, the Ottoman Empire. The UK's continued colonial misappropriation of the Elgin Marbles has no grounds for support in international law.
It is a moral and ethical duty for the UK to hand back such significant cultural artefacts. The Marbles were made in Greece and belong to Greece and the Greek people.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The repatriation of an item from the collection of the British Museum is a matter for the Trustees of the British Museum, not the UK Government or Parliament.
