Educational courses for secondary schools to prevent sexual harassment of women
I would like the government to fund and implement educational courses aimed at secondary school children concerning the subjects of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape. And open up the Conversation helping to broaden minds and minimise the rates of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape.
my petition is asking the department of education to invest resources and time into a program aimed at secondary school children talking and opening up the dialogue for people to talk about sexual harassment and educate our sons and daughters on this issue. We need to hear story’s from the strong Women and Men, showing it doesn’t matter who you are or what you are wearing this could happen to you. This is not a new issue and We need to fix it . Let’s educate to eradicate.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government's new Relationships and Sex Education curriculum, which is mandatory in all state schools from this year, requires that students are now taught about key aspects of the law relating to sex, which include the age of consent, what consent is and is not, the definitions and recognition of rape, sexual assault and harassment, and that sexual violence and sexual harassment are not acceptable: www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-education-relationships-and-sex-education-rse-and-health-education/relationships-and-sex-education-rse-secondary
