Petition Action

We demand a public apology from David Cameron for his pro-apartheid stance in the past

Additional Information

In 1985 David Cameron was a top member of The Federation of Conservative Students. This group produced 'Hang Mandela' posters and T-Shirts and campaigned for the execution of Nelson Mandela. In 1989 Cameron worked for the Tory Policy Unit at Central Office and went on an anti-sanctions fact finding mission to South Africa to a pro-apartheid lobby firm which was sponsored by Botha. Today on the death of Mandela, Cameron has stated that Mandela was a personal hero.

We the signed call for Cameron to make a public and international apology to Nelson Mandela, his family and the people of South Africa for this disgraceful hypocrisy and re-write of history.
