Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone. An estimated 1.6 million women experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2019. Police received a domestic abuse call every 30 seconds in the first seven weeks of lockdown. 97% of young women have been sexually harassed. Approximately 85,000 women experience rape/attempted rape/sexual assault by penetration in England and Wales every year.
