Allow more then one parent in hospitals with children 2 and under when admitted
I understand the issues and struggles with COVID-19. However having a baby or toddler ill in hospital is incredibly daunting and horrible as it is, especially when they’re only allowing one parent with the child. This has a huge impact on the mental health of the parent, being alone, without
Familiar support, as well as having to deal with discussions, decisions and health of the child. There can be precautions in place to reduce the risk of COVID, having tests before hand for the additional adult, therefore ensuring nothing is transmitted within the hospital. I don’t think parents and children should have to go through this with no support from family members, as it causes more distress for everyone.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Under the current national restrictions you are already allowed to leave your home to visit someone who is in a hospital: www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november
Vising policies for individual hospitals are a matter for NHS England and individual NHS trusts, not the Government or House of Commons. You should contact your local hospital to find out what their visiting policy is.
