Restrict junk mail, or allow an opt-out option, for environmental reasons.
Each week I receive many pieces of junk mail, booklets, flyers, menus, and it all goes into the bin or recycling without a second look.
It's an extremely wasteful practice.
I'd like new laws or guidance in place to restrict unsolicited mail, or at least allow an opt-out or digital alternative.
In a time when resources are depleting, energy use is under scrutiny and the environment is being polluted more and more by human waste, this unnecessary practice is out of date, particularly when digital alternatives are available.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you're concerned about junk mail, but we're not sure how you'd like it to be restricted
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as creating an opt-out service.
