Police Lives Matter - Give police officers the right to protest
we want the government to change legislation in order to give police officers the right to protest. Police officers do not have the same rights as other public servants, being discriminated against other jobs within the public service scope.
We want the government to change legislation in order to give police officers the right to protest. Police officers do not have the same rights as other public servants, being discriminated against other jobs within the public service scope. Legislation needs to be drafted and debated in parliament in view of changing the law, allowing police officers to hold protests against politics that affect all the police forces across the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Whether a police officer's participation in public protests is appropriate is a matter for the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) and individual police forces to decide, not the UK Government or Parliament. There is no legal prohibition on police officers taking part in political protests.
