Make it mandatory to teach students consent in secondary school sex education.
With the recent situations that have been surrounding the media, it should be mandatory to teach consent in all sex education classes in secondary schools across the United Kingdom.
Sexual assault is a horrible thing that a lot of women and men have to experience. Speaking to numerous teenagers about this has made me aware that consent isn’t taught in the majority of secondary schools which is appalling. Teaching young children consent could help prevent the amount of sexual harassment cases we get in the UK each year. As well as this, helplines should be provided to those taught about consent so if they have had an experience with sexual assault, they know who to go to.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government's new Relationships and Sex Education curriculum, which is mandatory in all state schools from this year, requires that students are now taught about key aspects of the law relating to sex, which include the age of consent, what consent is and is not, the definitions and recognition of rape, sexual assault and harassment, and that sexual violence and sexual harassment are not acceptable: www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-education-relationships-and-sex-education-rse-and-health-education/relationships-and-sex-education-rse-secondary
