Force public broadcasters to declare the political backgrounds of interviewees.
For too long public broadcasters have been able to present specialists or experts as being politically neutral, when in fact it is clear from their social media history they are not. This leads to a lack of confidence in broadcasters and makes BBC and Channel 4 prone to political exploitation.
Legislation should be introduced to force public sector broadcasters to complete a political background assessment prior to interviews, and to declare the result on the screen as an individual is being interviewed. E.G.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Asking for, and disclosing, the political affiliation of interviewees is a personal matter for them and for broadcasters, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you would like to express concerns about a particular programme or interview, you could contact the broadcasting regulator Ofcom: www.ofcom.org.uk/complaints.
