Extend the period allowing councils to meet remotely
Local councils have worked tirelessly to continue working remotely during the pandemic and many have now realised that it is in fact, in many ways, more efficient. The public have found it easier and more convenient to join in meetings.
Insisting on returning to face to face meetings is bad for democracy, bad for the environment and potentially bad for public health. It would also prove almost impossible for small parish councils to arrange a covid safe environment.
