Grant all university students the right to defend their assignments
I would like the Government to pass a law granting all university students the right to defend their assignments when they are incorrectly evaluated and there is evidence to prove it.
At present, there are universities that do not offer this right to students and so if errors are spotted, students are not allowed to disagree with the marking but have to accept it as a valid assessment. As a result, students may not get the grades they deserve.
Having the right to defend assignments can have various benefits for both students and teachers alike, such as a more mutually supportive dialogue as well as system for discourse and learning.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Assesment and the awarding of degrees are a matter for individual institutions and not the UK Government or Parliament.
