Petition Action

Require social media accounts to be identifiable, not anonymous

Petition Details

The government should make it a legal requirement for users of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to identify themselves on their accounts, and ban the use of anonymous accounts, to help stop trolling and online abuse.

Additional Information

Trolling is a massive problem in the UK. I myself have been the victim of trolling recently and would like to make it a legal requirement to identify yourself on all social media platforms in the UK. This would improve many people’s online experience and could even save lives.
