Prevent the government from starting a universal basic income scheme
The Parliament should discuss the issues that arise from a universal basic income scheme and should take steps, such as a new law or restrictions to prevent the government from passing a basic income scheme or something similar.
The Parliament has the ability to pass a law that prevents a guaranteed basic income scheme from starting out in the UK. Having guaranteed income in place would be disastrous to the economy and civil rights, and could start a uprising in the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not aware of any Government proposals for a Universal Basic Income.
You might also want to be aware that no Government or Parliament is able to bind its succesors. A subsequent Parliament could repeal any law, including one preventing Parliament from legislating on an issue, so we can't accept petitions calling for a law banning another law.
