Require evidence before Companies House can publish the departure of a Director
The Government should require that evidence of the departure of a Director from a company's Board (a written resignation or a Resolution of Shareholders to dismiss the Director) be presented before the Registrar of Companies can publish details of a departure.
At present it is possible, when Directors of Companies are in dispute with their co-director(s), for false information to be filed with Companies House. Whilst there are procedures to rectify untruthful information, it only applies if all Directors support it or the Director seeks an order of court.
Requiring evidence of a Director's departure should deter the practice of submitting false information.
