Petition Action

Save and Protect Our Oceans From Commercial Overfishing

Petition Details

We need the government to take action when it comes to commercial fishing and the destruction of planets oceans and seas. 90% of the world's largest fish have now been wiped out and 3.9 billion acres of the seafloor is deforested every year by trawling. It is killing our home, earth.

Additional Information

The government needs to act fast, we must:

Set up no-catch marine reserves immediately - a short term goal of protecting 30% of our ocean by 2030.

End all UK fishing subsidies, saving hundreds of millions in taxpayers funding, which props up this most destructive industry.

Our oceans are dying, we cannot survive without our oceans, we must act before it is too late. 300,000 dolphins, whales and porpoises are killed in fishing nets every year along with 30,000 sharks a day. We have to act now.
