Ease the COVID regulations for NHS staff post-travel
1- Exemption from self isolation post-travel if no symptoms and COVID test is negative.
2- If not possible to exempt form self-isolation, then to ask NHS trusts to give us the self-isolation days as a sick leave not annual leave.
3- Offering free testing for overseas NHS staff pre-return to work.
1- Currently, the 10 days self isolation post-travel have to be taken from annual leave days (juniors are allowed to take only 9 days per rotation).
2- Nearly impossible to to book annual leave for travel days + self isolation days in one row.
3- The financial burden, 200 pound for testing each family member, flight costs and pre-travel testing.
4- This is mainly affecting the overseas NHS staff mental health who worked side by side with their colleagues during the pandemic.
