Obligate the Northern Irish Assembly to repeal blasphemy laws
The Government should make the Northern Irish Assembly repeal blasphemy laws. Not only can they make non-Christians feel discriminated against, they can also encourage stricter regimes, such as Saudi Arabia, to continue their practice of capital punishment for blasphemy and apostasy.
I think that the Northern Irish Assembly should abolish these laws, as I feel very strongly about this issue. Capital punishment is completely unacceptable, as are all forms of prejudice and negative discrimination, and abolishing these laws could help make Northern Ireland a better place.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Assembly.
You could start a petition calling for the UK Parliament to return responsibility for setting such laws to Westminster, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
