Introduce legislation to make verbal consent a legal requirement in pornography
Many young people use pornography as a reference point about how to act in sexual relationships. We would like the Government to introduce legislation that makes the asking and receiving of consent by both parties compulsory in all pornographic videos.
Currently no consent is shown at any point in most pornography. In many videos no consent is shown when trying new and potentially dangerous things with a partner. We believe by introducing this legislation we can teach people about the importance of consent being sought and given, leading to more people following by example and ultimately protecting the vulnerable.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This would be a matter for the licencing and regulatory authorities, such as the BBFC and Ofcom.
