Make it easier to reunite missing/stolen pets.
Make it mandatory for pets to be scanned for microchips when first visiting a veterinary practice, and ensure the owners match the registration details.
The recent rise in pet theft has shown that this needs to be considered to help reunite missing pets. If these animals are sold on it will come to light once scanned.
