Petition Action

Hold a referendum on a federal system for the UK & greater devolution in England

Petition Details

The Government should hold a referendum on introducing a federal system for the UK, with new devolved regions or provinces to England to stand alongside devolved parliaments of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Additional Information

We want more power to rest closer to the people. We would like the devolved English regions/provinces to reflect the historic and current identity of the people so that they can identify with their local assembly. Decisions on transport, education and healthcare should be localised under a federal system.

We want a written federal constitution to enshrine in law the relationship between a UK Federal government and the devolved regions/ provinces and nations.
